Microwave Fundamentals—Part I
Thursday, June 25, 2026, 1:00-2:30PM EDT
Speaker: Comsearch’s Joe Marzin (Technology Group Director)
Summary: This webinar covers RF propagation concepts for the transmission of a microwave signal from one endpoint to another. The behavior of the signal is broken down into various concepts of path loss to include free space path loss, atmospheric absorption, diffraction, and refraction. The concepts of diffraction and refraction lead to the development of the parameters Fresnel Zone and K-factor, or effective earth radius factor. These are key components in the evaluation of microwave path clearance. These key concepts and parameters help to understand path design criteria and fading characteristics of microwave paths. Microwave Fundamentals—Part II
Thursday, July 30, 2026, 1:00-3:00PM EDT
Speakers: Comsearch’s Joe Marzin (Technology Group Director) and Peter Xu (Product Support Engineer)
Summary: This webinar will provide an understanding of microwave path reliability and how factors such as antenna size, radio transmit power, terrain, path length, rain, climate can affect the overall availability. Strategies for designing microwave paths to overcome common problems including multipath and rain will also be offered. This session will conclude with a live demonstration of our iQ.link® Microwave Design Software. Register >>
